Questions re: Survey?

Users of this survey are encouraged to contact us directly if they have any questions on how to apply this information.

In this survey we report on salaries and bonuses of Chartered Accountants working both in public accounting and industry in the Greater Toronto Area. The numbers reported are primarily reflective of central Toronto extending from the downtown core up to North York and west to Mississauga. Remuneration tends to drop as a function of distance from the core. Someone in Burlington or Ajax may earn five to eight percent less than their counterpart in the same job in downtown Toronto. For accurate Ottawa numbers, please multiply figures by 85 percent.

Please keep in mind the following when using this survey:

  1. Year of designation denotes year of qualification as a Chartered Accountant, not the year of passing the UFE.
  2. Salaries vary widely as a function of industry sector, risk/reward factors, etc.
  3. As with any salary survey, these numbers were collected over the last twelve months; actual remuneration today for each year will be somewhat higher across the board.
